Eligibility Criteria for FUTA 2024/2025 Post-UTME Form

To be considered for admission into the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), you must meet the following eligibility criteria for the Post-UTME screening:

• Make FUTA your top choice: When registering for the UTME, select FUTA as your first-choice institution. This is crucial, as FUTA will only consider candidates who have chosen them as their top preference.

• Achieve a minimum UTME score of 160 : In the UTME examination, score at least 160 marks out of 400. This is the minimum threshold set by FUTA for candidates to be eligible for the Post-UTME screening.

• Obtain a minimum of 5 O’Level credits in relevant subjects : In your O’Level examination (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB), obtain at least 5 credit passes in subjects relevant to your desired course of study. This demonstrates your academic foundation and preparedness for university-level studies.

• Include English Language and Mathematics in your credits: Ensure that English Language and Mathematics are among your 5 credit passes. These subjects are essential for any course of study and are required for admission into FUTA.

• Limit your O’Level sittings to 2 : Obtain your 5 credit passes in not more than 2 sittings. This shows that you have a consistent academic record and are capable of achieving success in a relatively short period.

• Meet the age requirement of 16 years old : you must be at least 16 years old to be eligible for admission into FUTA. This ensures that you have reached the minimum age requirement for university admission.

How to Apply for FUTA 2024/2025 Post-UTME Exam

To make an application for FUTA’s post UTME screening exercise you are to:

• Meet the Requirements: Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria, including choosing FUTA as your first choice, scoring at least 160 in UTME, and having 5 O’Level credits (including English and Mathematics).

• Register Online: Visit the FUTA admission portal with this link (https://firars.futa.edu.ng/), log in with your  UTME or matric number and password then proceed to click on the Post UTME registration, and fill out the online application form.

• Make Payment: Generate a payment invoice and pay the registration fee of N2,000 using a valid debit card or other accepted payment options.

• Upload Documents: Upload your O’Level results, UTME result, and passport photograph, and ensure all documents are uploaded correctly.

• Print Registration Slip: Print out your FUTA Post UTME registration slip, which is going  to contain your exam schedule and other important information.

Modality of FUTA 2024 Post-UTME Exam

Type:  The FUTA Post-UTME screening examination is a Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Structure: The FUTA Post-UTME exam is a 1-hour computer-based test consisting of 40 multiple-choice questions divided into four sections: English Language (10 questions), Mathematics (10 questions), Physics (10 questions), and Chemistry or Biology (10 questions, depending on your chosen course). 

Each question carries 5 marks, and there is no negative marking for wrong answers. The maximum score is 200 marks, and the minimum score required to pass is 50% (100 marks). You are expected to answer all questions within the allotted time, and the exam result is  going  to be used to determine eligibility for admission into the university.
