How OAUSTECH Calculates Your Aggregate Score

Olusegun Agagu University of science and Technology calculates your aggregate score by adding the JAMB score (which is 50% of the total score) to the Post-UTME score (which is 30% of the total score) and then adding the O’Level result (which is 20% of the total score).

The O’Level result is calculated by assigning points to each grade obtained in the six relevant subjects, with

  1. A1 = 6 points
  2. B2 = 5 points
  3. B3 = 4 points
  4. C4 = 3 points
  5. C5 = 2 points
  6. C6 = 1 point

The university then adds up the points to give your O’Level aggregate, which then adds to the JAMB and Post-UTME scores to give your total aggregate score.

This is the total score the university uses to determine your admission into the university.

next step if you didn't meet OAUSTECH cutoff mark

  1. Consider other universities: Look for other universities that offer your desired course and have a lower cutoff mark. You can also consider state or private universities that have more flexible admission requirements.
  2. Upgrade your result: If you’re close to the cutoff mark, consider upgrading your result by retaking JAMB next year. This gives you a better chance of meeting the cut-off mark in the next admission cycle.
  3. Change your course: If you really want to attend OAUSTECH, consider changing your course to one that has a lower cutoff mark. This might be a good option if you’re interested in a related field or have a passion for something else.
  4. Pursue a foundation program or diploma course: OAUSTECH offers pre-degree and JUPEB programmes. Opt for any of it. Completing one of these programs can give you a direct entry into the university, even if you didn’t meet the cutoff mark initially.
