How ATBU Calculates Your Aggregate Score Before Offering You Admission

What ATBU does is direct. Your chances of getting admitted is based on your UTME, post-UTME and your O’Level result (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB). Your UTME score attracts 50%, post-UTME receives 40% while the remaining 10% goes to your O’Level. The addition of the three forms your aggregate and it is what ATBU considers to offer you admission.

If your UTME score is low, you can still leverage on the post-UTME and your O’Level to boost your chances of gaining admission.

Here’s the overall calculation:

Aggregate = (UTME score ÷ 8) + post UTME score + O’Level points.

It’s quite easy to know your O’Level point.

  • A1 attracts 2.0 points
  • B2 attracts 1.8 points
  • B3 gets 1.6 points
  • C4 takes 1.4 points
  • C5 receives 1.2 points
  • C6 manages 1.0 points

Now assume your UTME score is 220, post UTME score is 28 out of 40 and you have 5 A1s (total of 10 points) in required O’Level subject, your aggregate score is going to be:

Aggregate = (220÷8) + 28 + 10 =  27.5 + 28 + 10 = 65.5

That means you have a total aggregate score of 65.5%.

You can then compare the percentage with the cutoff mark of the course you choose.

If you fall below the cut-off mark ATBU sets, feel free to change to another department with a lesser cut-off mark.
