next step if you didn't meet UNIZIK cutoff mark

If you didn’t meet the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) cutoff mark, here are four potential next steps to consider:

Consider other universities: Research and explore other universities that offer your desired course and have a lower cutoff mark. You may find a suitable alternative that aligns with your academic goals.

Take a gap year: Use the year to prepare and retake JAMB and Post-UTME exams to improve your scores. You can also engage in productive activities like internships, volunteering, or online courses to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Change your course: If you’re still interested in attending UNIZIK, consider changing your course to one with a lower cutoff mark. This might be a good option if you’re flexible about your field of study.

Seek admission into a polytechnic or college of education: If you’re unable to get admission into a university, consider seeking admission into a polytechnic or college of education. These institutions offer quality education and can serve as a stepping stone for future university education.

How UNIZIK Calculates Your Aggregate Score

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) calculates your aggregate score by combining the JAMB score (which is 50% of the total score), Post-UTME score (30%), and O’Level result (20%).

First, it divides your JAMB score by 8, while the Post-UTME score divides by 2.

Also, it calculates your O’Level result based on the number of credits you obtained, with a maximum of 20 points.

The three scores are then add together to give your total aggregate score, which UNIZIK uses to determine your admission into the university.

For example, if  you have a JAMB score of 250, a Post-UTME score of 70, and 15 credits in O’Level, your aggregate score is:

(250/8) + (70/2) + 15 = 31.25 + 35 + 15 = 81.25.
