How EBSU Calculates Your Aggregate Score

EBSU calculates your aggregate score using a combination of your JAMB score and your post-UTME score.

Ebonyi State University turns your JAMB score to a percentage by dividing your it by 400 and multiplying by 100, while it also convert your post-UTME score to a percentage.

The university then determines your aggregate score by using a weighted average system, where your JAMB score carries 50% weight and your post-UTME score carries 50% weight.

For example, if your JAMB score is 250 (62.5% ) and your post-UTME score is 70 (70% ), your aggregate score would be (62.5% x 0.5) + (70% x 0.5) = 66.25%.

next step if you didn't meet the cutoff mark

If you didn’t meet EBSU’s cut-off mark, don’t worry! Here are 4 potential next steps:

  • Consider other universities: Look into other universities that offer your desired course and have a lower cut-off mark. You may still be able to secure admission elsewhere.
  • Change your course: If you’re passionate about studying at EBSU, consider changing to a course with a lower cut-off mark. This might be a good option if you’re interested in a related field.
  • Consider supplementary admission: EBSU sometimes offers supplementary admission to candidates who didn’t meet the initial cut-off mark. Keep an eye on the university’s website or contact their admissions office to see if this option becomes available.
  • Re-take UTME: If you’re determined to study at EBSU, consider re-taking the UTME exam to improve your score. This gives you a better chance of meeting the cut-off mark in the future.
Remember, there are always alternative paths to achieving your academic goals!
