OAU 2024 cutoff marks for medicine, nursing, and other courses are out. This is good news for you. You can now check the cutoff mark for the course you choose at OAU and know the next step to take.

The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) cutoff mark serves as a crucial threshold, determining eligibility for admission into various undergraduate programs offered by this prestigious institution.

It reflects the minimum score you must attain in your just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to be considered for admission.

Beyond being a mere number, the cutoff mark represents a gateway to your aspirations, symbolizing your readiness to embrace the challenges and opportunities that await you at OAU.

Understanding the OAU cutoff mark empowers you to navigate the admissions process with confidence and clarity. It’s not just about reaching a numerical target; it’s about showcasing your academic prowess and potential to thrive in OAU’s dynamic learning environment.

As you prepare to pursue your dreams at OAU, remember that the cutoff mark is not a barrier, but rather a stepping stone towards realizing your goals. Embrace the journey ahead, knowing that each milestone brings you closer to unlocking the doors of opportunity at Obafemi Awolowo University.

It’s simple. OAU considers your UTME score, post UTME score, and your O’Level result (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB). Your UTME score takes 50%, post UTME receives 40% while the remaining 10% goes to your O’Level. The addition of the three forms your aggregate and it is what OAU considers to offer you admission.

If your UTME score is low, you can still leverage on the post UTME and O’Level to boost your chances of gaining admission.

Here’s the overall calculation:

Aggregate = (UTME score ÷ 8) + post UTME score + O’Level points.

It’s quite easy to know your O’Level point.

  • A1 attracts 2.0 points
  • B2 attracts 1.8 points
  • B3 gets 1.6 points
  • C4 takes 1.4 points
  • C5 receives 1.2 points
  • C6 manages 1.0 points

Now assume your UTME score is 240, post UTME score is 30 out of 40 and you have 5 A1s (total of 10 points) in required O’Level subject, your aggregate score is going to be:

Aggregate = (240÷8) + 30 + 10 =  30 + 30 + 10 = 70.0

That means you have a total aggregate score of 70.0%. You can then compare the percentage with the cutoff mark of the course you choose.
